I am Achut from Nepal and completed 10+2 with 80%. I would like to study Mechanical engineering in your prestigious college (NIT).

do I have to appear in entrance exam? if yes, where and when?

Also, can I apply for scholarships?

for foreign students their is no need to sit in entrance exams...you can directly take admission ...
this year foreign students are admitted in NITs , which is conducted by nit surathkal , so visit their site...

i think ist round for foreign students was conducted in may... so visit DASANIT.ORG..

  • The NITs consist of 20 institutes dedicated to imparting quality education in engineering and technology at both graduate and post-graduate level. NITs are located at Agartala, Allahabad, Bhopal, Durgapur, Hamirpur, Jalandhar, Kozhikode (Calicut), Kurukshetra, Jamshedpur, Jaipur, Nagpur, Patna, Raipur, Rourkela, Silchar, Srinagar, Surathkal, Surat, Tiruchirapally and Warangal. Admission to undergraduate courses in all NITs takes place through a common entrance test called the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE). On the other hand, admission to post-graduate courses takes place through various examinations such as Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), NITs MCA Common Entrance Test (NIMCET) and Common Admission Test (CAT), etc.
