for ece u should go for iiits and for mechanical you may opt jamshedpur where mechanical is very nice..u can try warangal and trichy also.gud luck

I find dat NITs dont figure in top 12 engg. colleges of India list.But J.U. does.So do I opt for J.U.since I have a good rank there, or should I consider the NITs to be better actually and go for any subject I get there?My aieee AIR is 15347(overall) and I am gen.Can I get into an NIT anyway with such a horrible rank?Please rply.I am really confused about what to do!!!

take part in all round of counseling and in 4th round you may get nit like nit rourkela , raipur and more good may be these are better than nit srinagar . it may possible u get good branch in in yr home state nit . check opening and closing rank at www.ccb.nic.in in all rounds also check ranking of nits if u face any problem in counseling u may cotact me at devender.yadav75@gmail.com BYE

hi plese told yr home state after that I can told u because 50% seats are reserved in home state I also gave AIEEE 2010 . I also suggested in above answer which is also given by me to check ccb.nic.in BEST OF LUCK AGAIN

hi sanjukta you may get some branches in NIT srinagar in 1st counseling . I suggest u to take participate in next all rounds of counseling . in last u may get good nit and there is also 50% seats are reserve in yr home state nit .u may get this & plese check ccb.nic.in see opening and closing rank of 2009 BYE wish u good luck

  • The NITs consist of 20 institutes dedicated to imparting quality education in engineering and technology at both graduate and post-graduate level. NITs are located at Agartala, Allahabad, Bhopal, Durgapur, Hamirpur, Jalandhar, Kozhikode (Calicut), Kurukshetra, Jamshedpur, Jaipur, Nagpur, Patna, Raipur, Rourkela, Silchar, Srinagar, Surathkal, Surat, Tiruchirapally and Warangal. Admission to undergraduate courses in all NITs takes place through a common entrance test called the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE). On the other hand, admission to post-graduate courses takes place through various examinations such as Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), NITs MCA Common Entrance Test (NIMCET) and Common Admission Test (CAT), etc.
