I WANT TO KNOW WHETHER ITS WORTH GOING TO NIT SILCHAR EITHER MECHANICAL/CIVIL BRANCH.DOES IT IS USEFUL TO MY CAREER TO A GREAT EXTENT.

IS THERE A MAJOR DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE MECHANICAL/CIVIL BRANCHES OF NITSILCHAR AND OTHER REPUTED NIT'S.

well to be honest there's no use going to a nit just because it is a nit,,,, & silchar can't even be spotted in the list of top 100 clgs..at the end its ur choice... its not an IIT yaar at the end its a damn nit whose brand name also does'nt count much..... Best of Luck.

no way can u get eee in trichy in this birth..(at this rank) in any round,,, check out previos year OR & CR if u doubt..... u have a decent rank ,, u can try ur luck at some other goddam good NITs..

  • The NITs consist of 20 institutes dedicated to imparting quality education in engineering and technology at both graduate and post-graduate level. NITs are located at Agartala, Allahabad, Bhopal, Durgapur, Hamirpur, Jalandhar, Kozhikode (Calicut), Kurukshetra, Jamshedpur, Jaipur, Nagpur, Patna, Raipur, Rourkela, Silchar, Srinagar, Surathkal, Surat, Tiruchirapally and Warangal. Admission to undergraduate courses in all NITs takes place through a common entrance test called the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE). On the other hand, admission to post-graduate courses takes place through various examinations such as Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), NITs MCA Common Entrance Test (NIMCET) and Common Admission Test (CAT), etc.
